Premier Men knocked out of Jubilee Cup

A 'win or go home' match was always going to be a thriller and our Jubilee Cup clash with Northern United lived up to expectations. There was added motivation with Ken Kapeli celebrating 100 games and Keelan Whitman earning his blazer for 50 games.

While the game was truly a thriller, the final result wasn't the one we hoped for. Just like the Swindale Shield clash, Norths went out to an early lead of 22-3 before the Red Machine roared into life. A Keelan Whitman try just before half time kept us in touch at 10-22.

Second half tries to Tuga Mativa saw MSP storm into the lead at 23-22 but Norths wouldn't rollover. After the teams exchanged tries in the final 20 minutes, it was a Jackson Garden-Bachop penalty that sealed the win for Norths in the final five minutes.

Congratulations to Northern United, we wish you all the best for next week.

While it wasn't the end of the season we hoped for, we acknowledge the efforts of our players and coaches throughout the season. It was a tough one with injuries disrupting the flow of the side, but the players turned up each week and put their bodies on the line for the club.

Elsewhere, the Internationals remained unbeaten on the season with a big win over OBU 'Teddy Bears'. The Presidents and Netballers also got back in the winners column.
