Lockdown with Monica Tagoai

We're catching up with our players to hear how they have been through the COVID-19 lockdown period. Next up is Black Fern and Marist St Pats Premier Women's midfielder Monica Tagoai.

What have you been doing to keep busy in lockdown?

During lockdown I've been learning how to cook a lot (I'm not the chef at home, dad's been complaining that this is the perfect time to learn). Also been sewing, painting and working out with my family!

Best movie or tv show you've watched?

I don't have one which is strange, but at the moment my siblings and I have been watching old YouTube videos of X-Factor failures which is hilarious.

Are you a gamer? What have you been playing?

Hahaha sorry not a gamer.

How have you been keeping in touch with your team mates?

Yes I've been keeping in touch with my teammates, everyone has been doing their own individual workout posting it on our Facebook page to help motivate each other during these tough times.

What are you most looking forward to about moving to level 3?

To see my uncle Ronald McDonald 😂

How have you been keeping fit?

I'm from the Hutt and we have a beautiful path way by the river bank, where people can run, walk, ride their bikes. Insane views. So been doing a lot that. Home workouts we have been using the old tanks of water using that for lifting and old tyres from dads car.

What are you most looking forward to about rugby when it eventually returns?

Looking forward to just playing! It's been a long time coming for me due to my injury last year, so yeah getting an opportunity to play with my Marist sisters would be a blessing for me this year too and hopefully for Wellington Pride and Black Ferns.
