Near perfect round as season gets into full swing

While our Premier Men and Women have been playing for five weeks already, Saturday marked the first full round of rugby with all teams playing. The results were almost perfect for Marist St Pats with six wins and one loss across the grades.

Our Premier Women continued their strong run of form with a clinical 62-7 win over Paremata-Plimmerton.

Our Premier 2 Men got their first win of the season with a big 59-19 win over Hutt Old Boys Marist.

The Colts put in a huge shift against a strong Tawa side, coming out resounding winners by 51-19.

The Internationals and Under 85s kept the theme of big victories going with the Internationals beating Wests by 46-7 and the Reds taking down HOBM by 46-17.

The Presidents travelled to Paremata-Plimmerton and came up short by 17-25.

In the Swindale Shield match at Evans Bay Park our Premier Men had a comfortable 49-20 win over a much improved Paremata-Plimmerton. Four first half tries saw a bonus point secured at the break, but Pare-Plim fought hard and enjoyed strong passages in the second half.

The Marist St Pats coaches will be awaiting the injury report after a number of players left the field injured. Special thoughts to James Proctor who sustained a serious head knock.

The Premier Men now have three away games, starting with Petone next Saturday.
