Shamrock Club enters 34th year
The Shamrock Club was formed in 1992 to connect people who are passionate about their rugby and in particular amateur club rugby at Marist St Pats.
This year marks the 34th year of the Shamrock Club.
The Shamrock Club has proven a great vehicle for people to meet and share good times and company with like-minded rugby folk. Last year the Shamrock club had 74 members with the prospect of over 80 members this year.
Over the years Shamrock Club funds have enabled MSP to undertake a major refurbishment of the Evans Bay gym, replacing the old sawdust with artificial turf, upgrading the weights room, replace the showers and add changing rooms.
The gym is regarded as one of the best rugby facilities in Wellington with an estimated 1000 junior, college and senior players using it every week during the season.
In recent seasons, Shamrock Club support has seen the clubs junior primary school teams all outfitted in the club’s scarlet jerseys.
