Dear

We're at the business end of the season with our Premier Men hosting a Jubilee Cup Preliminary Final this weekend, we look forward to your support...

Marist St Pats vs Northern United - Jubilee Cup Preliminary Final

With a new Jubilee Cup format in play for 2021, our Premier Men booked their Jubilee Cup Preliminary Final (aka Semi Final) in the first round of action a fortnight ago with a gutsy 18-13 win over Oriental-Rongotai (match report). That gave Marist St Pats a second round bye, which meant the team could rest up and avoid the worst weather of the season last weekend.

Their Preliminary Final opponents are Northern United who took down Old Boys-University by 13-0 at Nairnville Park which resembled a swimming pool last Saturday. The winner of the Preliminary Final will face either Hutt Old Boys Marist or Tawa in the Jubilee Cup Final on 1 August.

The team list to contest the Preliminary Final will be published on our social media channels on Friday. We hope to see a big crowd at Evans Bay Park to cheer on our team, but there will be a livestream on our Facebook page for those who can't make it to the ground.

Around the traps...

The Wellington Pride got their season underway last Sunday with a 13-5 win over Otago. There are seven Marist St Pats players in the squad which is coached by Zak Feaunati... Valini Vaka made her Wellington Pride debut in Sunday's game becoming the 16th Marist St Pats player to represent Wellington... Josh To'omaga became Marist St Pats' 44th centurion, playing his 100th Premier game against Oriental-Rongotai a fortnight ago...  The Internationals are enjoying a strong season having won six of their last seven games... The annual Marist St Pats Senior Prizegiving will be held on Saturday 21 August... Aidan Morgan has been a feature in the New Zealand Under 20s side which has played four games throughout the country during June and July... Jonathan Taumateine joined the Manu Samoa squad and made his first test start against Tonga; he is the 12th Marist St Pats player to represent Samoa... Billy Proctor was again in the Maori All Blacks for their two games against Samoa... Murray Tocker was the winner of the monthly $500 cash draw for 500 Club members. It's not too late to join the 500 Club and get into July's $500 cash draw, simply start making the $20 monthly contribution to get in the draw...
