Marist St Pats seeking Director of Rugby

Marist St Pats is seeking applications from experienced candidates for a newly created Director of Rugby position.

The successful candidate will need to have experience in high performance rugby coaching and have a strong work ethic. The role is hands-on and includes work hours relevant to the sporting industry (including nights and weekends during the rugby season). 

You will report directly to the Club's Committee Executive formally each month and day to day to the Club Chairman. You will have supervision over other rugby volunteers.

As the Director you will be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Developing the rugby strategy and a blueprint for ongoing success for the club indicative of performance measures

• Recruitment, development of leadership of players, coaches, managers, and other volunteers

• Building and maintaining relationships with St Pats College Town, St Pats Silverstream, and other Catholic Colleges in New Zealand.

• The total organisation and leadership of the MSP training environment

• Management and administration across all of the senior clubs’ operations and competitions including management of volunteers who work in Rugby Operations.

• Production of Rugby training plans for Senior Club, Junior Club, Club Academy and Wider Training Group.

• Coach Development and Education of seniors and juniors

• Relationship management and interactions with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to WRFU, other clubs, MSP Sponsors and Suppliers.

• Fulfil reporting and review processes as required to the Club Executive monthly.

About You

To be successful in this position, you will require the following skills / attributes:

• A professional and energetic attitude with high standards both on and off field

• Experience in high performance rugby coaching (essential)

• Coaching qualifications and/or tertiary qualifications relevant to the role

• Experience managing and undertaking pastoral care and welfare when selecting, supervising, mentoring and developing players, club and team staff and volunteers

• Strong attention to detail and an extremely organised approach to your workload and problem solving

• The ability to work independently and show initiative

• The ability to work flexible hours around training (evenings) and week-end game days

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to always represent the club professionally

• IT capabilities relevant to the role - specifically in relation to review and preview of performance
