Introducing our new committee members

Every year Marist St Pats benefits from contribution of individuals who volunteer their time to the governance of our club. We're pleased to introduce (or reintroduce) some of our new Management Committee members.

Paul Smith - Treasurer

Tell us about your connection to Marist St Pats?

My family has been involved with MSP over a number of years with my father (Ray) involved from 1970s, myself playing in 1980s and coaching and managing MSP junior teams in 2000s. I followed MSP over all the years.

What has brought you back to join the committee?

I have always followed the club and wanted to give back to the club and help where I could.

What are you most looking forward to this season?

Watching MSP teams play and have the basis to continue in future years.

Iain Potter - Committee Member

Tell us about your connection to Marist St Pats?

I linked up with MSP towards the end of the 1992 season when I moved to Wellington. I had butted heads with MSP at various Spillane tournaments as I was already in the Marist network of clubs having played for Auckland Marist and North Harbour Marist. I have played, coached and supported in various ways ever since.

What has brought you back to join the committee?

I have been contributing mainly through the rugby side over recent years but was happy to step across into more general club administration this year to put my energy where it can help the most - the vibe amongst the committee is so positive its a great team to be part of.

What are you most looking forward to this season?

The MSP buzz, the sense of belonging to a great community and some good footy as well!

Fred Lefaoseu - Club Captain

Tell us about your connection to Marist St Pats?

My family brought me into the MSP environment playing for what was a social team at the time. A short stint with the seniors and now play for the MH Law Classics Presidents team.

What has brought you back to join the committee?

Because Sean asked for help... and retiring from Pressies has been a challenge. The committee allows me to stay involved with rugby and help our rugby community.

What are you most looking forward to this season?

Watching and experiencing our club succeed on and off the field. So many challenges ahead but we have an amazing club of players, volunteers and supporters.
