MSP does well at Tui Awards

Marist St Pats featured prominently at the Rugby Union's Tui Awards presented in Wellington last night. The hard work of Damian Rapira-Davies, who coaches MSP's senior 2s and a St Pat's College team as well as the award-winning Wellington Pride, was justly recognised, with Tia Paasi's prize completing a good night for women's rugby.

The club's front rowers were also called up on stage, with premier prop Solomona Sakalia, hooker Liu Taituave, and senior 1 prop Donald Brighouse among the trophy winners.

Marist St Pats overall depth was reflected in the club collecting one third of the 18 trophies on offer, including the award for the club with the highest average of championship points per team.

MSP's list of award winners includes:

  • Representative coach of the Year
    Damian Rapira-Davies

Well done also MSP coaches Mason Lawrence and Andrew Robinson. They, and their colts and under-85 teams, were among the final three nominees for the Coach of the Year and Team of the Year awards.
