Jeff becomes MSP's twelfth All Black

Jeff To'omaga-Allen officially became Marist St Pats' twelfth All Black (including Marist and St Pats Old Boys) after gaining his first test cap against Japan last night. Jeff came off the bench with about ten minutes to play and got right in the thick of the defensive line putting in some big hits.

Arriving at Marist St Pats fresh out of Wellington College, Jeff honed is craft in Kevin Horan's scrum factory at Evans Bay. He went on to make the New Zealand Under 20 team out of Marist St Pats in 2010 and was named MSP's Sportsman of the Year in 2011.

He earned his first professional contract with the Hurricanes in 2012, becoming the first Hurricane to be selected before making his provincial debut. He made strong impressions in his first season earning himself a number starts for the side. Following the Super Rugby season Jeff returned to his beloved club and was named player of the game in MSP's 2012 Jubilee Cup win over Oriental Rongotai. Following a strong ITM Cup he was then named Wellington rugby's Player of the Year for 2012.

2013 was always shaping up to be a big year for Jeff and he enjoyed a superb start to the Super Rugby season earning himself a spot in Steve Hansen's All Blacks training camp only to be injured before the camp began. Ever the professional, this setback did nothing but strengthen Jeff's desire to get back to his best and stamp his mark on New Zealand rugby. He did this in a excellent ITM Cup campaign with the Lions.

Following his first taste of test rugby, Jeff will travel to Paris with the All Blacks ahead of their three match tour of Europe.

As one of the true nice guys of rugby and a loyal servant to his club, Marist St Pats congratulates Jeff, wife Margaret and all of their family on this great honour and wish him all the best for a long, successful All Blacks career.
