Congratulations to premiers in Wellington Lions
Five MSP premiers have been selected to the Wellington Lions team - congratulations to fullback Apoua Stewart, centre Tajhon (Taj) Mailata, first-five Fa'atonu Fili, no 6 Victor Vito, and hooker Ged Robinson.
Taj is a newcomer to the club, having arrived early in July. He is a former Bay of Plenty rep who has also played age-grade rugby for Australia. His timely arrival followed the departure of long-serving centre Chris Slade, who has taken up a new job in Melbourne.

Congratulations to Andrew Robinson, coach of the under-85 Blues team, who is MSP's 'Volunteer of the Month' for June. Andrew has been coaching the Blues since 2006, and he's also served on the club's management committee. The Blues won the first round of their competition this year, for the second season running.
Club secretary Geraldine Manu'a won the award in May, and colts coach Dave Wanden was the inaugural winner in April.

| MSP celebrates Victor's All Black selection |
Congratulations to Victor Vito, Marist St Pats' first All Black since John Schuster back in 1987.
Loose forward Victor was named in the All Black team on Sunday 30 May, the day after he had turned out for MSP in their 48-0 win over Tawa. It was his 43rd premier appearance for MSP.
Victor first played for the club's premiers in 2005, in his first year out of Scots College. He was the club's Sportsman of the Year in 2008.
Despite a heavy workload for the Hurricanes and Wellington Lions, Victor has always played for the club whenever possible. He is often at premier matches, the gym and clubrooms supporting Marist St Pats and his teammates.
The club congratulates him on his selection, and wishes him all the very best for a long and successful All Black career.

Marist St Pats claim 13th Jubilee Cup |
MSP are the 2009 champions of Wellington club rugby after a superb display of finals football took them to a 21-16 Jubilee Cup victory over Northern United at the Westpac Trust Stadium on 9 August.
In the club's third consecutive finals appearance, it was a case of third time lucky after a drawn final against Norths last year and a loss to Hutt Old Boys Marist two years ago. |
