Big wins on Old Timers Day

Our Premier Men, Women, Premier Reserves and Presidents all recorded big wins as the club celebrated Old Timers Day.

The Premier Women kicked off the day with a 71-5 victory over Poneke. Kelly Tuiatua-Laumalili played her 50th Premier match and was awarded her blazer at the clubrooms on Saturday night.

The Premier Reserves led Northern United by 59-0 before conceding tries in the final half an hour to record a 59-33 win.

In the Swindale Shield it was another try-fest with debutant Francis Mettrick scoring three and joined on the scoresheet by fellow debutant Jack O'Brien with 32 points including two tries. Keelan Whitman also recorded a double. Mettrick and O'Brien we awarded join Man of the Match honours. Final score 67-25.

In another early match, the Presidents got off the mark with a 39-12 win over Johnsonville in their season opener. Also getting their season underway against Johnsonville in a grading match were the Internationals who fell by 10-32. The Under 85kg Reds lost to Poneke by 13-53. The Colts had the week off.
