Premier and Premier Reserves book semi final spots

Our Premier and Premier Reserves have booked semi final spots on a sunny afternoon at Jerry Collins Stadium.

Unfortunately the Premier Reserves went down late in the game but four tries meant they walked away with two bonus points and a semi final position booked.

In the Jubilee Cup match the Premiers shot out to an early lead by way of two tries to flyer Ryan Saunders as he regathered kicks to score.

Sloppy defense kept Norths in the game and they threatened to take the lead midway through the second half, but tries to Ha'amea Ahio and Michael Buckley - along with the outstanding boot of fullback Andrew Wells ultimately proved the difference. Wells nailed nine of ten attempts from the tee and had 23 points on the day.

The bonus point victory secured a Jubilee Cup semi final, but the side will host Old Boys-University next weekend with an opportunity to earn a home semi - and potentially finish top of the table.

Earlier the Colts had a good win in muddy conditions at Porirua Park 3, late tries secured the victory. The playoff dream is still alive but side will need a bonus point victory over OBU next weekend to have a chance.

The Women had a tough opponent in unbeaten Oriental Rongotai but kept the scoreline to 5-36 - an improvement on a 19-61 result last month.

All other grades were cancelled.
