Premiers bust out with emphatic win over Norths

After a few week's of mixed results our Premiers blown out the cobwebs with a big win over previously second placed Northern United.

With injuries further plaguing the team, there was another reshuffle in personnel for the Red Machine. A number of players coming into the side took the opportunity to stake their claim for more playing time, particularly lock James Zino and first five Dudley Parsons who both turned in strong performances.

With six tries on the day, it was the Proctor and Wells show with Billy Proctor bagging himself his second brace of the season and was then joined on the score sheet by his brother James who made his Marist St Pats debut off the bench after a long injury layoff. Andrew Wells continued his strong vein of form, claiming a double of his own along with a strong performance from the kicking tee.

This win means we likely will only require one win from our final two games (against Paremata-Plimmerton and Wellington) to ensure Jubilee Cup qualification.

Earlier our Colts A brushed off a mid-week loss to earn a solid victory over Norths; the Premier Reserves went down narrowly.

  • Premiers beat Northern United 50-14
  • Premier Reserves lost to Northern United 21-25
  • Colts A beat Northern United 34-24
  • Women had a bye
