Six in Wellington 7s squad
Six Marist St Pats players have been named in the Wellington mens representative Sevens squad ahead of as they start their preparations for the Central Regional Qualifier tournament on 9 December.
The team is coached by former Marist St Pats first five and current Scots College Director of Rugby Sam Rasch. He has named Marist St Pats Premier players James Tuiatua, Matt Peni, Michael Buckley, Ryan Setefano and Willie Schultz in the squad along with 2017 Colts player Saia Paese.
Saia (right) spent the first half of 2017 in Australia after a strong 1st XV career at St Patrick's College. On his return to Wellington he became a valuable member of our Colts team where his coaches noted his great decision making skills to compliment a lot of speed! It's great to see Saia get the opportunity with the representative squad.
In addition to our six players, St Patrick's College 1st XV loose forward Keelan Whitman (younger brother of MSP's Grayson Whitman) has been named in the squad with another five school leavers.
