Premiers face uphill battle in Jubilee Cup

Our Premiers have slumped to their third consecutive loss in the Jubilee Cup against Old Boys-University at Nairnville Park.

A lopsided penalty count put pressure on our side in the first half yet we managed to score three tries and lead 19-11 late in the first half before letting in two tries to give the Goats 19-23 lead at the break. The second half was again fairly evenly matched but OBU capitalised on their opportunities to take the match. Our side may regret not taking a penalty kick in front in the dying minutes which would have earned them a valuable second bonus point.

Earlier the Premier Reserves also lost to OBU in their Ed Chaney Cup match which was moved to Newlands Park to preserve Nairnville for the Jubilee Cup match. The Colts also suffered their first loss of the season, narrowly going down to Norths.

Our Premier Women had a bye and will start their Tia Passi Cup campaign against Northern United.
