Success at Evans Bay on Past Players & Supporters Day

In front of a bumper crowd at Evans Bay Park our Premiers and Premier Reserves came away with wins over Hutt Old Boys Marist. Over on the turf our Colts stayed unbeaten with a nailbiting win over Oriental-Rongotai.

Completing the hardest week of the first round, the Premier Reserves set the scene with a bonus point win over Hutt Old Boys Marist to remain unbeaten.

In the Swindale Shield our Premiers controlled all the action in the first half with tries to Matt Peni and Jayden McCarthy seeing the team take a 23-6 lead into halftime. Our cousins from Lower Hutt weren't ready to rollover, keen to keep their unbeaten record intact, but despite a flurry in the last 10 minutes our boys held on to win 28-26.

Three games in eight days is hard on any team, but with the hardest run (facing the other top three teams this week) the side will come away with some confidence. Next weekend they travel to Upper Hutt to take on the Rams.

Elsewhere, our Premier Women had a tough second half and had their first loss of the season to Northern United. The Under 85s and Internationals also had losses. First Grade won by default to Poneke.
