Sean Horan, our Director of Rugby

Marist St Pats is fortunate to have Sean Horan as our Director of Rugby. He is responsible for managing all aspects of rugby at the club, this includes recruitment, player and coaching development, and ultimately ensuring our players are set up for success.

A former Premier player at Marist St Pats, Sean has incredible credentials at both a local and international level. Sean's extensive professional coaching resume that also includes stints at the Black Ferns Sevens and Bay of Plenty NPC head coach and more recently as the head coach of China’s Olympic Women’s Sevens programme. In his five year stint as the Black Ferns Sevens coach Sean led the team to three out of the first four World Sevens Series titles and won the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow in 2013; the side also won the Olympic silver medal in Rio in 2016.
